Just checking in

I checked in on Instagram after my short hiatus, and I have to say that I don’t really miss it too much. I’ve been busy drawing new seasons of graphics for Heroin, and so I’m deleting Instagram from my phone again so that I can focus on that. I'll check in on it now and again and launch the new catalog on there, but I don’t want to be as reliant on it moving forward. I want anything that I do post on there to be more intentional, to have intent rather than just being on there all day long. It really feels like disconnecting from the Matrix or something, you have to take a break to realize how deep you were into it.

Live From Antarctica 2005

Wow, 20 years ago, Alan Glass and I made a video called “Live from Antarctica” inspired by the Gwar VHS that we used to watch before we’d go skating.

There hasn’t been a full video around for a little while now. I think the Vimeo one originally got cut off through the Osaka Daggers part, and then the original YouTube one had all the music removed, so I’m happy to upload a full version of our 2005 video.

Enjoy this one.

Off insta for a bit.

Hey everyone. I ‘ve logged out of instagram for a week, thought I’d just check in on here and let everyone know we’re good. We were evacuated from Pasadena because of the Eaton Canyon fire, that we could see from out front yard, so that put a lot of work and other things on hold for about a week. We’re back home now and we’ve been volunteering at places picking up and dropping donations, and trying to balance that with time running the brand and catching up with deadlines. I’ve been working on a couple of really great collaborations for 2025, that I’m hyped on, other than that I’ve been catching up on logging video stuff.

It’s funny how much time was all waste on social media stuff like Instagram, you don’t notice until you’re off of it. Well I’m looking forward to reading all the books I bought and never seemed to have time to read, as well as working on all the projects that I’ve never seemed to have time for.

Hope you are all well, is a newsletter something that is of interest to anyone? That might be a fun way of keeping everyone in the loop without being beholden to the big social media channels. Just an idea.

Bilbao Blex

Well it’s quite the week for video’s. We had the Baker Boys park edit, the Shelloween edit and now the Bilbao Blex video shot and edited by Forde Brookfield. We sent the UK Boys out to Bilbao and it looks like they had a blast. Featuring Charlie Gush, Craig Questions, Dead Dave, Jasper Dawson Clough, guests Brendan Watson and Taylor Ballard.

A Lil Baker Boys Edit

Most of the squad rolled up to Baker Boys the other day to grab a few boards and bits, we don’t usually skate the park, but Hayate, Charlie and Dalton were there, so they wanted to have a roll around. Next thing I know the Go Pro was out and the session was on. Made a fun little edit out of the footage from that day. Thanks to Molly Nilsson for permission on using this great song, I love her stuff. She’s on Bandcamp here Molly Nilsson

Baker Boys Lil’ Edit. We hit the Baker park with the crew the other day and had this fun little session.

Dalton Dern goes Pro!

Really stoked to add Dalton Dern to our pro roster. He’s been skating for us for a few years now and constantly killing it. We turned him Pro the same night as his brother Kaanan went pro for Zero. First ever time that two brothers going pro for different companies at the same time. Congratulations Kaanan and Dalton!!

Shelloween x Snot Collab

Collabs are pretty easy to sort out when you own and run both the brands involved. I had the idea for this one in early September, and our awesome new factory in Texas did an incredible job on getting these little beauties together. We have two Halloween themed boards dropping this month, so it only makes sense that we drop some spooky themed wheels at the same time!! Get em while you can! I’m setting some of those orange ones up as soon as I can.
